I could earn high salaries in places like Dubai. But what draws me is a society that genuinely reinvests in its citizens — where high taxes translate into real, visible value: healthcare, education, and trust. That exchange matters to me deeply.
Norway consistently ranks at the top of the HDI — not by accident, but by design. Strong social welfare, exceptional education, and workforce productivity that signals something most countries are still figuring out.
The way Norway manages its oil fund is something I genuinely admire. Rather than spending windfall wealth, Norway built one of the largest sovereign wealth funds in the world and invested it in the future. As a designer who thinks in systems and long-term outcomes, this kind of institutional foresight resonates with how I work.
Scandinavian work culture is built around trust, flat hierarchies, and depth over busyness. I'm looking for a culture where thoughtful work is valued — and Norway leads the world in exactly that.
